Now I have proof, proof that Bri-Bart is in fact Alberto Contador. It was well-recognized that his face, physique, personality, and riding style was identical to Alberto; yet, he still assumed a different identity living a low-key lifestyle in the tiny community of La Grande. Now I have obtained the missing evidence that proves my case, his physiological data. He came into our Human Performance Lab today and blew up our metabolic cart. Perhaps, unlike Legstrong, he’s willing to appease Lemond by sharing his data. You might want to ask him.
I’m now like a kid in a candy store with all the toys we have in our lab. The new addition of a PowerTap wheel has us underway with a new study on muscle activity and efficiency at different saddle heights. Here is a list of some of the cycling applicable equipment we’re using:
- E-motion Rollers
- Kurt Kinetic trainer with the the heavy flywheel
- Metabolic cart (Oxygen Analyzer for VO2max)
- Electromyography cart (Electrodes for measuring muscle stimulation)
- Peak Motus motion analysis software
- Dartfish motion analysis software
- Digital cameras - high speed and normal speed
- Mobile lactate analyzers (haven’t had time to even break these out of the packaging yet)
- GPS watches - Suunto and Garmin
- All of the staple fitness testing instruments like skinfold calipers, flexibility measures, and blood pressure cuffs.
Over the last 5-6 years we’ve been working to build our equipment and I’m really impressed with our collection now. I wish I had more time to play. Twenty four hours is not enough, especially since I usually sleep 8 (and I won’t dip into that reserve).
