O. M.-
You’ve been up to plenty of mischief this week. Even as we speak, you are misbehaving. Surprisingly, you’ve turned out to be a good training partner this winter. Yesterday, your consistent head wind provided excellent resistance for my 12 minute intervals. Your hard packed white surfaces have provided nice smooth riding. However, I’m getting tired of your shenanigans.
Remember that I gave you notice of your demise 1.5 weeks ago. That gives you only 2.5 weeks left. Already, I can smell the decay of your body. In fact, I don’t know that you can hold as long as I have given you. I’ve even had a few glimpses of spring hiding behind your back, ready to take you like the Grim Reaper. I know the melt of your flesh will be the worst offense of all, but this will finally expose pavement so I can watch you whither away from atop my road bike.
Your memories will last, but I won’t miss you. There will be no funeral and no obituary. All that will be left are some pictures and me. . .still riding.
